This is a comparison of a painted wood sign vs one carved in PVC. Depending on exposure all wood signs will degrade like this over time, where the PVC material with a white background will not fade or need painting.

This sign is 72" wide x 36" high x 3" thick sign foam, carved on both sides with the letters and town seal are gilded with 23kt gold on a dark green background. The sign is installed with granite post.
